Movie star Seon-kyu Jin, known for his strong acting performances in box office hits “Extreme Job” and “The Outlaws” has been appointed as the ambassador for the Changwon Sculpture Biennale 2020. The Changwon Cultural Foundation, which hosts the event, decided to appoint him as a public ambassador to better promote the Changwon Sculpture Biennale 2020 (hereinafter referred to as the “Biennale”) at 16:00 on July 16 with an appointment ceremony at the Changwon City Hall.
Regarding the reason why Seon-kyu Jin was selected as an ambassador, an official from the Changwon Sculpture Biennale Promotion Team said, “We believe that we can create a more approachable image for the Changwon Sculpture Biennale with Seon-kyu Jin as our ambassador, who has built a witty and easy-going public image thanks to his excellent acting in ‘Extreme Job,’ which was released in 2019. We hope Seon-kyu Jin as our public ambassador, can let more people, who may have never heard of the Biennale before, learn that Changwon as a city hosts the only sculpture biennale in Korea and the fact that it has produced a number of world-class sculptors such Kim Chong Yung and Moon Shin.”
As ambassador Seon-kyu Jin will record an audio guide for Biennale and provide some unconventional and entertaining commentary for the exhibits to visitors, and also shoot promotional videos to further support the Changwon Sculpture Biennale event.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Biennale is turning heads with a variety of new initiatives, including the appointment of its first-ever public ambassador. Meanwhile, the main events for the Biennale will get under way between September 17 and November 1 with the theme “Non-Sculpture - Light or Flexible.”
