Bubble gum in Changwon

DECKER has long explored one’s perspective toward the subject in photography. She has often built an otherworldly, imaginative space in her photography works by intentionally distorting the size of a real-world object and skewing the perspective. This formative experiment, which the artist previously performed in the virtual world of photography, is now repeated in a real-world space. A pink bubble blown with bubble gum is presented in Yongji Park at much larger than life size. The artist’s intention is to facilitate a surreal, unexpected encounter between us and the enlarged form of an everyday item.
