Tree & Color_Changwon #1
LEE showcases a canvas structure installation which is an extension of his “Photography-Performance Project.” The 6-meter tall canvas structure behind a thin tree is part of a long-term plan of expanding the size of the canvas every 5 years as the tree grows. It’s understandable how this series used to be called “a growing sculpture.” This time around, the artist made a change to his usual installation: instead of a white canvas, it is now a hologram panel that contains all colors and lights in the world. The tree is the main character here and the hologram panel attached to the canvas structure standing behind the tree allows the visitors to see differently not only the tree but also the landscape that the panel reflects, depending on their viewing position. It truly is a project that encompasses all the Tree, Nature, Light, Visitor, Sculpture, and Photography.
