Distortion
This work is a faithful recreation of an old abandoned house DEBOMBOURG saw in a rural village a long time ago. A space that has long been uninhabited and untouched becomes distorted over time and gradually collapses due to gravity and climate. Visitors are invited to enter and view the inside of this slanted architectural sculpture which captures that perilous moment. The small, shabby house flatly reveals the state of being distorted in an angle after the initial perpendicularity between the ceiling and the wall is lost over time. Modeled on the actually distorted building, the installation questions the reality that is perceived optically.
