A Variable Space
If you are looking for something light and flexible, this is it. There are two pieces by GARRY showcased at the Biennale: one is a countless number of soft, colorful mesh fabrics hanging on the wall, and the other is two canvases connected together by canvas cloth wrinkled and hung loosely in the middle. His artworks are reminiscent of the exhibitions of a French artist group, Support/Surface, in the 1970s. Pieces made of light and flexible materials are simply hung on the wall in their pure, natural forms without the frame. The naturally occurring creases continuously change this place into a variable space as the title suggests.
