Colorful bomb
This work displays a contrast between the tower-like structure and the vivid colors of paint that are running down the structure with no constraint. The structure is rigid and stiff like a skyscraper in the middle of a city, but the paint that flows over and down the structure is ever so flexible and soft. Just as the title Colorful Bomb indicates, the “free fall of flexible paint” envelopes and incapacitates the oppression and rules inside social institutions – just like a “bomb of hope” that gives us freedom and joy. JEUNG exhibits not only this non-sculptural sculpture but also a relief piece that shows the traces of paint dripping down a wall.
