Memorial Chapel- square
LEE carefully examines new ways of interaction brought about by fears of face-to-face contact amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while revisiting the meaning of a public forum. He borrows Walter Benjamin’s concept of threshold (schwelle) or passage to build a machine bustling around the room. He then invites visitors to ask themselves where they can find the passage and the square where social events and discussions used to take place. Filled with mechanical technologies, the media installation busily travels around as if it’s searching for a public forum.
