Stacks of discarded cardboard boxes fill the space reaching up to the ceiling. Danish artist BASTRUP finds elements of art in these seemingly ordinary boxes that have been thrown away after use. In his solo exhibition in 1964, Andy Warhol showcased a stack of Brillo boxes by creating exact replicas of the popular soap pad product. Through his art, Warhol questioned the difference between mundane objects and work of art. Here, BASTRUP takes a step further by using real cardboard boxes, not replicas. In this fresh sculpting experiment, the artist arranges individual used-up boxes in the form of a multiple art to critically reflect on the modern capitalistic civilization.
